Lead Team

An organized opportunity to serve the body of Wesley & the students of Valdosta State. Our leadership program offers a variety of ministry areas for you to choose from as well as a chance for you to become a deeper part of our community, grow as a leader & grow in your relationship with the Lord.

Prayer Team

Prayer leaders assist in creating a prayer culture at Wesley. They help lead a Centering Prayer for the Wesley body at 7:15pm prayer time and are available to pray with students at the 8pm service. Prayer Team will also help organize other prayer opportunities. (prayer walks, etc.)

Discipleship Team

This team will help the Wesley community get in Discipleship opportunities by connecting students to Home Groups and leading small groups at Wesley or on campus.

Connect & Media Team

Focuses on engaging students through activities like distributing yard signs, tabling, and greeting at Wesley Wednesday. It's ideal for those who enjoy socializing. Media-savvy members support by promoting weekly events on social media.

The Fellowship & Events Team

The Fellowship & Events Team will work in planning fun events to build community among the men and women of Wesley. They will also assist in planning Taste of Wesley, our annual fundraising dinner.

Intramural & Front Lawn Team

This team will help organize the Wesley intramural sports teams and front lawn hangouts. Let's play and have some fun!

Worship & Production Team

Leads Wesley's musical worship, requiring rehearsals, service setup/teardown, and sound/slides operation. Auditions are necessary. Production focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere through lighting, sound, and design.

I agree to the Covenant

Being a part of leadership in the Body of Christ is an honor and a privilege. Throughout Scripture God, through those in authority, have asked His leaders to follow certain conditions that will make them most effective in the opportunity He gives them. At Wesley, we are committed to living with moral and ethical values that are consistent with the Bible and the standards appropriate for the community we live in. We expect the students who lead at Wesley to live according to those values in response to God's call for His people to live righteously.

By accepting a leadership role at Wesley, I submit myself to the following covenant:
I will seek to know and serve the Lord as my first love.
I will be diligent in fulfilling all of the responsibilities entrusted to me. These include:
• Regularly attend the Wesley Wednesday night service (12 out of 15 is considered Regular)
• Being faithful to participate in weekly discipleship band
• Being actively involved in the ministry area in which I am given through prayer, time, and dedication
• Attend LEAD retreat January 12-14th; Wesley Roundup in August; and End of Year Dinner Celebration in December.

I will live a life of celibacy outside of the marriage covenant, and I will live above reproach and avoid even the appearance of immodesty in all my relationships. This includes purity in dating relationships and forbids sleeping over with the opposite sex.

I will live a life of sobriety.
-If under 21, I will adhere to the law and not drink at all.
-If 21 or over, I realize that drinking to excess and in certain settings could cause others to stumble. Therefore, when in Valdosta, I will refrain from the public consumption of alcohol. The only exception to this is that staff and leaders are allowed to drink modestly at meals in public settings.
- I will refrain from even modest drinking at any sort of Wesley gathering (mission trip meetings, ministry area meetings, retreats, etc)

I will be above reproach in the way that I both conduct myself and represent myself (and Wesley) through various social media outlets - Facebook, Snapchat, Text Messaging, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

I will zealously guard what I watch, read, and listen to so as to not grieve the Holy Spirit who makes me His temple.

With regard to all of the above, I will submit to those in authority over me (interns and directors) and make myself accountable to them, as unto the Lord, throughout the entirety of my time on Wesley Leadership.
